Our Approach to ESG

As part of QuadReal’s commitment to being a Responsible Company, we are involved members of the communities where we live, work and invest. We work to advance the quality of life to our communities through our actions, including charitable giving and local engagement.

In support of our commitment to building stronger communities, QuadReal has a teamwide dedication to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) into the company’s core activities. These include our corporate, global real estate and debt management, due diligence and investing activities. One of the key ways we hold ourselves accountable is by benchmarking our ESG performance through the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

We are advancing an updated strategic pathway to decarbonize our global portfolio by 2050. This net-zero strategy builds upon QuadReal’s founding sustainability mandate to achieve an 80% carbon reduction across its operations in Canada.

Our pathway to net zero includes very specific interim targets to help inform next steps at the property level and will be applied to all the real estate we manage. We are also committed to being transparent in our approach and measurement tools so we can help lead the real estate industry in the transition to a net-zero economy.
