Our Approach

We plan for the long term, emphasizing quality and resilience, with a development strategy that identifies opportunities within the existing portfolio and through future acquisitions.

Our strategy centres on rigorous and responsible execution, focusing on transit-oriented, urban, and mixed-use densification opportunities—as well as targeted industrial and residential projects—designed to perform well through all economic cycles.

We approach project development with three guiding principles:

  • Ensure the entire portfolio is responsive to demographic and market conditions
  • Leverage an approach that is respectful of local communities and neighbourhood
  • Partner with organizations that have a collaborative, team-based approach and value longer-term relationships

Spotlight on Hazel

Go behind the scenes of QuadReal’s development, Hazel. Located in Burnaby, just outside of Vancouver, Hazel offers over 200 thoughtfully designed urban homes, creating a community that is steps away from beautiful outdoor spaces, major transit links and more.

Community Building

We take active responsibility, supporting the vitality of our communities. Together with our local teams and partners, we work to integrate an emerging approach that measures our social impact through actions such as charitable giving, local engagement and more.

Our Community Work

  • IMMIX

    IMMIX is QuadReal’s newest purpose-built rental development in the heart of Toronto. The project celebrates the site’s rich history, including being an important landmark of the LGBTQ2+ community’s fight for equal rights in the city of Toronto.

  • Assembly Park

    Assembly Park is QuadReal’s largest master-planned community in Canada, developed in partnership with Menkes. Through dedicated community spaces and a year-round calendar of events, we combine community engagement and support for local, not-for-profits. This includes Mackenzie Health Foundation, which received a significant donation from QuadReal in 2022.
