DOING OUR PART
Every business is nested within a set of environmental, social and economic constraints. Where some might see barriers, we look for opportunities. For QuadReal, constraints inspire innovation and fuel our entrepreneurial spirit. We hope that our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our Canadian operations by 80% by 2050 will unlock new thinking, new synergies and new partnerships. We aim to earn trust and to help our tenants and residents flourish, and our neighbours thrive. We want to do our part.

DOING OUR PART MEANS MEETING STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE IN REAL ESTATE SUSTAINABILITY
Our goal is to score in the top quartile of the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). Our properties are on track to achieve green certification at over 95% of the Canadian portfolio. We are proactive with our international partners, encouraging and rewarding excellence in sustainability. Transparency is at our core. We openly share our progress by publishing the energy, water and carbon emissions data per building through our interactive map and leasing webpages. We also showcase the types of analysis we find useful to drive continuous improvement in our management of energy, water and waste at a portfolio level. Doing our part means excellence in performance and transparency.
As part of our commitment to transparency, we publicly share benchmarked energy, water and carbon emissions data for our buildings across Canada.
Over 95% of our Canadian portfolio has achieved green certification. Explore our interactive map to learn about our properties and their performance.
CREATING A LOW-CARBON FUTURE
How do we know if we have done enough? In our interviews with global thought leaders, they repeatedly identified climate change as the most significant threat facing the real estate sector and is therefore the greatest opportunity for QuadReal to make a difference. We have aligned with the science-based target for our Canadian portfolio: an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050 compared with our 2007 baseline. To achieve this target, we focus on low-carbon operations for new developments, continue our efforts to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings, use renewable energy and less carbon-intensive fuels and assist tenants, residents and peers in meeting their own carbon goals.

WE WORK WITH OTHERS BECAUSE OPPORTUNITIES ARE BETTER TACKLED TOGETHER
Collaboration catalyzes greater impact. This is why we proudly support the work of BOMA Canada, the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), REALPAC, the Canadian and United States Green Building Councils, Fitwel, the Center for Active Design and the Embedding Project. We believe we can accelerate change by sharing best practices and working together on sector initiatives. This approach will create lasting positive change in the communities where we develop and manage properties. Every quarter, we will publish a conversation between a QuadReal sustainability leader and a change agent from another organization that is implementing innovative solutions.
As we work toward our overall sustainability goals, it is also important for us to consider health and wellness. We are proud of our partnership with the Center for Active Design and Fitwel to develop The Office Guide to Building Health, a free resource that helps office tenants and landlords work together to create workspaces that promote occupant health and wellbeing.
THE SUSTAINABILITY SEMINAR SERIES
Engaging with our sector peers and stakeholders is critical to making a meaningful impact. The Sustainability Seminar Series is a forum for sharing experiences and insights with those interested in making a difference.
Our purpose is to create living and working environments that enhance the lives of the people we serve. We support our communities by playing a positive role in creating vibrant, diverse and resilient places.
