It’s difficult to believe that it has been over a year since the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic that sent many of our tenants home to work from kitchen tables and converted spare bedrooms. As COVID-19 prompted new ways of living and working for everyone in our communities around the world, we have continued to make the health, safety and well-being of tenants, their guests, service providers and colleagues our highest priority. In fact, for this reason QuadReal is among the first management companies to certify our policies under the Fitwel Viral Response module so that tenants who have returned to the office, as well as those who are ready to make that decision, know that our practices align with Fitwel’s science-based approach.

We’re tenants too

In the months ahead we look forward to welcoming more of our tenants’ employees back to our Canadian properties, including our own QuadReal corporate employees. After all, we’re tenants too, in multiple cities across the country, including Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.

QuadReal’s property teams have been working diligently to ensure a safe return for everyone, and this includes adhering to industry-leading practices. To answer our tenants’ questions about what a return to the workplace will look like when they are ready, we have created a new series of “Welcome Back” resources. These include videos, links to government directives and a practical guide that we too are following at our corporate offices: Better Together: A Playbook to Support You in Returning Employees to Your Workplace. Our commitment is to collaborate with our business partners and tenants as efficiently and effectively as possible in using this Playbook, which has already been updated several times since its launch in May 2020.

As we partner with all our stakeholders, we are also guided by respected local health authorities, Health Canada and the World Health Organization. Thank you to all our valued tenants, residents, partners and guests for continuing to follow the advice of these public health officials. And thank you to our colleagues and industry peers for their tireless efforts in navigating this second year of the ‘next normal’ to ensure our communities are safe and continue to thrive.

The team at QuadReal joins me in wishing you, your families and associates well.
