Responsibilities for sustainability are embedded throughout the organization. Sustainability metrics are included in the annual objectives of our senior executives. QuadReal is owned by BCI, which receives a detailed carbon performance report that tracks progress towards our net-zero carbon target. We provide the data for the direct and indirect property modules that BCI submits annually as part of its public reporting to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Initiative.
The Sustainability and Environmental Health and Safety Committee meets quarterly and provides updates to QuadReal’s Management Board. QuadReal’s Senior Vice President of Sustainability & Environmental Health and Safety reports annually to the QuadReal Board of Directors on our progress in adhering to our sustainability strategy. Also known as an ethics reporting or whistleblower hotline, our Culture & Ethics Help Line is an important avenue to help us learn what is on the minds of our employees, former employees, external business partners, community members and other stakeholders. We have partnered with Clearview Strategic Partners, a third party experienced in facilitating confidential feedback, so that our team can hear from anyone about how we are doing and where we can do better.
